The Bengal tiger baby female - white form (Panthera tigris, Tygr indický/bengálský - bílá forma, Status: Endangered) from ZOO Bratislava, Slovakia.
DID YOU KNOW THAT... the white tiger is a recessive mutant of the Bengal tiger, which was reported in the wild from time to time? But those in zoos are inbred which is cruel - in extreme cases then they can look like this one: [link] . And you may also look here: [link]

I saw to keep tigers orange and don't breed the white ones at least because if you ask me it doesn't matter about the beauty of one that doesn't have a birth defect or something I care about there health more
Beautiful tigers, and great photo. I love the timing
I was aware of this but many people aren't so I'm glad you put the information here.
Beautiful as they are (and normally coloured tigers are beautiful too!) I think it's wrong of zoos to deliberately breed them...if it happens on occasion by chance then fine, but inbreeding in any species is known to cause genetic deformities and health problems, and is it really worth the risk and potential suffering to the tiger just because people think the white colouration looks pretty? A diverse and healthy gene pool should be more important to those who really care about conservation, not what's popular or considered pretty..
I agree. I know that f.e. in Liberec, one Czech zoo, they have new female from foreign country (can't remember which one) which has cubs right now - she doesn't have so much same genes with the father of cubs. Still I hope they'll stop breeding them - joy from having white cubs from normal tiger can be much much bigger...
